The system of truth which acknowledges the absolute sovereignty of God, and man’s total dependence on God for every part of his life, faith, and salvation. It is consistent Biblical Christianity, which received its basic expression in die writings of the Genevan Reformer, John Calvin (died 1564). It stands opposed to Arminianism.
